I am looking forward to celebrating with you next spring when Belinda's Place opens its doors to offer hope for the future to single women without a home.
The opening of York Region's first shelter for single women without a home is a milestone, not only for the life-changing services it will begin offering, but as a symbol of the partnership that a caring and compassionate community created to ensure these vulnerable women will have a chance to rebuild their lives.
As honorary chairperson of Belinda's Place Foundation, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the many donors, volunteers and supporters who share a vision for a community where every one of us has safe shelter and hope for the future. Your commitment and generosity in raising an inspiring $1 million toward the cost of building the shelter honours our communities.
I would be grateful for your continued support as Belinda's Place nears its opening. Your help is needed in providing the items that will make the shelter a home for the countless women requiring safe, supportive shelter. Every single donation, from the smallest to largest - from tea towels to refrigerators - will help to change a life for the better.
- Belinda Stronach
Thanks to the support of a caring and compassionate community, Belinda's Place will open next year to give hope to women without a home by providing life-changing services. With 28 emergency beds and nine transitional units, Belinda's Place will be York Region's first multiservice home for women who are single and homeless.!
Your continued support and generosity is needed to make Belinda's Place the best it can be. By making a financial contribution toward items required to make Belinda's Place a home, you will help hundreds of women get out of crisis and back into the community.!
